Brandon Walters: Australia Movie’s Biggest Star?
The smallest star of Baz Luhrmann’s movie Australia is being talked about as the next big child star of Australia. Thirteen-year-old Brandon Walters was spotted at a local swimming pool in Broome, Western Australia, and is now being talked about as even an Oscar contender.
Nicole Kidman and Brandon Walters formed a strong bond on set which has carried over into the publicity road train with Nicole chaperoning Brandon through his first few meetings with the press. In the movie Brandon plays Nullah a 10-year-old “half caste” child who awakens Sarah’s maternal feelings. Nullah also delivers a running-voice over commentary.

I’m from Fort Worth, Texas. I’m a bit disappointed (if not, indeed, appalled) that this movie is not doing better here at the box office. Nonetheless, I’ve been recommending it to everyone. It may not be a great movie, but it’s a pretty darn *good* movie. And, yep, Brandon Walters, as Nullah, steals the show! Highly recommended!!
There seems to be a real hate campagin against Nicole Kidman too - its weird!
I think Brandon Walters is one of the cutest kids I have ever seen! I rate him right up there with my 5 grandchildren. I know his parents are proud and rightfully so. I’m sure he knows that every old kangaroo thinks hers jumps the highest, and in his case it is true. Wonderful movie all the way around. My family and I want to see a lot more of Brandon.

I agree with everyone else. Just rented the video tonight and had to watch it twice. I’m a huge Baz Luhrman fan and this is one of his best films yet. Cinematography and dialect is superb. However; on a sidenote, young Brandon Walters does indeed steal the show. Every scene he is in makes you want to either laugh, cry, scream…panic. It is hard for seasoned vets to get that sort of response on the big screen anymore and he was absolutely adorable and mesmirizing!!! He makes you love everything about his character which makes following the story that much more enjoyable! He truly deserves an Oscar nod and uh like 4 more hours extra time on the Xbox!
Mr. Brandon Walters is absolutely magnificent! He is a truly a gift from GOD! May God continue to bless him and his family! I would live to meet him one day:) You did good!!!!!!!!
Australia was a wonderful movie. We bought the dvd and I watched it 5 times and will continue to watch it again and again. I loved all the stars in the movie but I also fell in love with Brandon Walters. He did
splendidly. I put him up there with my 4 grandsons. I hope he makes many more movies. God bless him and his family.
I loved Brandon Walters. God, he has such a talent and so virtous throughout the movie. I watched the movie twice, and only because of Nullah. As for other actors, Hugh and Nicole, I think they were false and no color. If it wasn’t for Brandon Walters, this movie would’ve turn into the dullest thing.
I adore Brandon! Hope he will have a great future in showbiz.
